GenX Women are Sick of This Shit!
GenX Women are Sick of This Shit is a nostalgic nod to the humans of GenX in the Midwest. Each episode, co-hosts Megan Bennett and Lesley Meier, have an ADHD driven conversation about GenX history and pop culture using their own lives and experiences growing up in Indianapolis as the backdrop. The podcast is a creative project inspired by the Facebook group 'GenX Women are Sick of This Shit', created by Megan Bennett in 2023. "Five Minutes of Fame" stories and "Dear GenX Women" letters are sent in by listeners and members of the Facebook group and are shared with consent. The original Facebook group is a mosh pit of menopausal women talking about all things GenX culture and life in the 70s, 80s and 90s as well as being a GenXer today. GenX Women are Sick of This Shit is part of Latchkey Kids Media, LLC where we make things we like because we want to. Copyright 2025, Latchkey Kids Media, LLC

Need a summer laugh while we take a quick breather? Lesley's holding down the fort this week as Megan vacations with the mouse at Disney, and she's got some hot recommendations from our back catalog to keep you entertained.
The summer heat is no match for perimenopausal hot flashes, and Lesley candidly admits she's feeling a bit exhausted this July. Rather than cobbling together new content, she's pointing listeners to some gems from last summer – specifically Episode 5, "Life, Death and Disney" (perfect timing with Megan's vacation), and the hilarious Episode 6, "Desperately Seeking Ron Popeill: An After School Special," featuring our infamous call to a 1-800 number that's been "transitioned for other middle-aged women." Trust us, it's worth revisiting just for the laughs.
While we're on break, there are plenty of ways to stay connected with the Gen X Women community. Our LYLAS (Love You Like A Sis) membership program keeps this podcast running for just $10 a month. We've got merch available on our website and Etsy store, and Lesley's even uploading a YouTube short featuring our first-ever fan mail from "super fan Sue" – complete with trinkets and snacks referencing past episodes. We'd love your stories for our "Five Minutes of Fame" segment too – just call 1-888-GEN-X-POD or submit through our website. The world may be on fire, but we're still groovy, and we'll be back with fresh content in two weeks! Leave us those five-star reviews while you wait – we promise we check them all.

I'm Megan Bennett, I'm Leslie Meyer and this is Gen X. Women Are Sick of this.
Speaker 2:Shit. Hi Leslie, hi Megan, how the heck are you? I'm doing okay. How are you? The world is on fire, but I'm groovy. How are those hot flashes? The world is on fire, but I'm groovy. How are those hot flashes? Oh Jesus, this is exhausting, to be honest.
Speaker 2:It's summer, megan's on vacation this week and I just don't have the energy to come up with something new for you all, as much as we love you. So I'm going to refer you back to some episodes from last summer. So I'm going to refer you back to some episodes from last summer, specifically episode five Life, death and Disney. Since Megan's been on vacation with the mouse all week, I thought it might be fun to revisit that little gem. And if you want a really good fucking laugh, go back and listen to episode six, desperately Seeking Ron Papil, an afterschool special, and listen to Megan and I call a good old 1-800 number that has been transitioned for other middle-aged women. And if you're really fucking bored, you can just go to our website, genxwomenpodcom. There you'll be able to learn about our pod support group, lilas love you like a sis, where you can join our monthly membership for just $10 a month to keep this podcast going. I'm trying to think is there anything else I need to tell people about Producer Tim? Have I forgotten anything? Let's see World's on Fire.
Speaker 1:Yep.
Speaker 2:Check Lilas Yep. Check Previous episodes Yep. Check. Got that one. Megan's on vacation Yep, totally. Oh, you can get your hands on some wet, hot merch on our merch store. We'll dry it first, I swear. And if you're just bored, maybe check out our YouTube channel. I am going to be uploading a short later today today being July 5th. That features our first ever fan mail from our super fan, sue some neat little trinkets, some craft items and some snacks that refer to things that have been on previous episodes. We hope y'all are having a nice hot weekend and we will see you back here in two weeks. Gen X women are sick of this shit, of this shit.
Speaker 2:You have been listening to Gen X. Women Are Sick of this Shit. Hey Megan, hey Leslie, what do people do if they want to find us?
Speaker 1:Well, we have a website that people can find us on, and that is genxwomenpodcom. We also have a Facebook page. We have an Instagram account as well. We have a YouTube account where we put YouTube shorts and other little tidbits up there. We have a TikTok account. I don't talk the dick or tick the tock. You don't tick the tock, I do not, I barely talk the tick. But I did put a TikTok up. We're explaining the internet to people again. That's okay though.
Speaker 2:It's great. We need to know how the internet works.
Speaker 1:Can people buy merch? They absolutely can. We have a merch store on the website itself, and we also have an Etsy store too, so it's just pretty easy to find. It's just Gen X Women on Etsy.
Speaker 2:And if you are listening to this podcast, presumably you found it somewhere. And while you're there, give us a review yeah, let us know what you think.
Speaker 1:Throw some stars at us, that'd be great. We'll take one, two, three, four or five, oh five maybe. And. And also make sure that you are hitting subscribe so that you're notified whenever a new episode drops. Most important, we also have a five minutes of fame that I think we should tell people about too.
Speaker 2:Hell, yes, we want to know your stories, your five minutes of fame stories. You can send those stories in on the website or you can call 1-888-GEN-X-POD and leave your story for us and we will play it live in our next episode.
Speaker 1:Yep, we'll listen to it on a little red phone, just like Batman. That'd be cool. Let's get a bat phone, a bat phone. I think that's it. I think you're right.
